Rediscovery / 再発見

 

It’s the same when I’m out on my favorite hikes, but when I’m out cycling, I come across scenes that I’d overlook if I were driving a car or riding a motorcycle, so I enjoy taking detours. Of course, since I’m not a cyclist who’s out training, I suppose that’s why I notice these things even more and that way of enjoying cycling has its own charm. 

好きなハイキングをしている時もそうだけど、自転車で走っているとクルマやオートバイでは見過ごしてしまうような光景などがあり、寄り道をして楽しんでいる。もっとも私は、トレーニングをしているサイクリストではないからそのような事が余計にあるのだと思う。でもそんな自転車の楽しみ方も乙である。

I love piers, but this was my first time seeing such a narrow one. This is a pier that used to be along the old road. I’ve known about this area for about 30 years, but since I’d never passed through it on foot or by bike, I didn’t know it was here. I’m really happy I discovered it.

The birds were chirping, it was a really lovely spot.

私は桟橋が大好きなのだが、このようなとても細い桟橋は初めてだった。ここは旧道沿いにあった桟橋、この辺りは30年程前から知っていたけど徒歩や自転車では通った事がなかったから知らなかった。発見できてとても嬉しい。

小鳥達が囀りとても良い所だった。
